Tax Return Clinic

First of all Happy New Year - and welcome to our first blog post of 2016. 

We started 2016 with a bang and held our very first Tax Return Clinic at 90 Squared. 
The tax return process can often be daunting and a dreaded task. So what better way to get some help, than by spending time with other Etsy sellers going through the same process. 

With the deadline looming at the end of January, it was the perfect time to do some last minute number crunching and form filling.

We had two very knowledgeable ladies helping out at this event;
Sarah, from Penelope Teapot and Kath, from Design37. 
Both Sarah and Kath have accounting backgrounds, as well as running their own beautiful Etsy shops. 


Sarah brought along lots of helpful information about the self assessment and talked the attendees through the form. 

During the afternoon, there were lots of interesting questions, including questions about National Insurance and business expenses. 
As well as the discussions about tax return, we also spoke about making financial plans for the future. 
This included talks of pensions and making arrangements for retirement.

Kath comes from an accounting background and provides help to small businesses. She is happy to help with bookkeeping and business admin.
